I come from Slovenia, where nature is not something you visit, but something you live with.
Forests, rivers, and seasons are simply part of everyday life.
Growing up in a multicultural family, I was surrounded by different ways of seeing the world from an early age. It made me curious about how people see things, what shapes their views, and how different experiences influence the way we understand the world.
I am interested in how change happens in practice
– not only through strategies and plans, but through people, relationships, collaboration, and the decisions made along the way.
Over time, this has led me to work across strategy, policy, and implementation in European and international contexts. I have worked at organisations such as BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt (Munich), European Institute of Innovation and Technology – EIT Food (Brussels), and Eindhoven University of Technology (The Netherlands), as well as across broader international initiatives and collaborations.
Outside of my work, I spend time behind the camera. Photography is a way for me to slow down and notice light, detail, atmosphere, and the small details that are easy to overlook. It offers a different way of paying attention to the world around me.
And perhaps this is also why something like Pura Vida resonates with me, as a reminder to -
stay connected to nature, to people, and to what brings meaning, presence, and joy to everyday life.
MY BACKGROUND
My academic background combines biodiversity, wildlife and ecosystem health with political science and European studies.
Together with my experience in programme leadership and implementation, this interdisciplinary perspective shapes how I approach sustainability at the intersection of strategy, governance, and practice.
It allows me to work across disciplines, connect different perspectives, and help translate ambitious sustainability goals into meaningful action.
